Diary

The Association holds regular education meetings.

One evening a month speakers are invited to address the members. These meetings are very popular and are a great opportunity to keep up with the latest in beekeeping and to meet other local beekeepers.

During the Summer months, apiary practical meetings take place at the Association apiary opposite Llysfasi College. These provide a chance to learn from experienced beekeepers.

Making Luminaries workshop

March 1, 2025

Wax luminaries are hand-dipped bowl-shaped beeswax globes, which will give a lovely warm glow when a tealight (battery or candle) is placed inside them. Once the wax luminary has been created, possible decorative elements include dried flowers, beads, glitter, or a lattice work of small holes can be cut or melted into them. No previous experience is needed. All materials (including a selection of decorative items) will be provided. We will also cover the basics of how to prepare wax beforehand and the safety aspects that should be observed during the process. By the end of the course participants should have made and decorated their own luminary.

The workshop will be run by Ann Moore is Treasurer of North Shropshire BKA and helps to manage the association apiary.
